Susan called today while I was at the farm. She was in disbelief that I could be in such a place and immediately wanted to know if I had 'my jewels' on. Of course!
My sister and brother in law have a dairy farm in St. Croix Falls Wisconsin. They have crops, cows and chickens. In the past it's been a huge dairy farm

but currently there are just these few.

Here's a tiny little hay bale

And here's the smaller of the two tractors.

All for you Susan! We actually spent some time calling in the cows so you could have this picture.
Oh, hell!!! I wouldn't be surprised if you heard me screaming all the way to Wisconsin. The sandals!!! Barefoot on a farm wearing crystals. The cows, the hay, the tractor. I AM DYING HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And thank you for the warning because I could have seriously hurt myself. I was properly braced.
ReplyDeleteThis is staged, no way our girl is cuddling up with bales of hay and cows, they stink. I went to the Hill Country of Texas on a painting trip with my pals whatever you call it, private ranch, hacienda, miles of land and water her family had owned for thousands of generations, she thought she was treating us to an escape from Provence, well not exactly, I can tell you personally it is really different when you are there. I had to buy very expensive cowboy hats and boots (humm, maybe time to pull those out, never wore them again and they were seriously cute) But, Marcia, surely you gest. Were you really there? Not a photo shoot? I know Mark did some photoshopping. Don't try this trick on us again. We are on to you.
ReplyDeleteWWWaaaiiiiittt a second (oops, I've been at a all a=scool all scool skool? reunion. It's taking me areally long time to tyle this type this properly (i'm having fun) really. Okay, her head is the same in every pise...pose hee hee. I've had 4 gin and tonics (I tyled that okay) typed, I mean! HEEHEE! I'm outa control! Okay! She had the same pose in every shot! She's been photoshopped! I'm not kiddin.. I know! It's a fake! SHW. Opps, she's a bit HIGH!
ReplyDeleteAll right. I will respong tomorrow when I'm not so looped. My brothers and sisters are here abd =\ oops and we have been at the all school reunion for all the Coronado classes of graduates. Okay, the ge.. drind ... drinks were strong. I wont apologise because I had fun!
Val I hope you're recovered, but you're pretty funny when you're drunk!
ReplyDeleteand for all you doubters, there was no photohopping involved, this was the real deal, I climbed up onto that tractor making sure not to touch anything that might make it move!
Fortunately it was after lunch that the dog (chesapeake lab) presented me with a dead gopher.
My brother in laws baseball cap says 'Gun Control means hitting your target' I told him he should probably not wear that in San Diego.
Note to self and to Girls:
ReplyDeleteDo not respond to anything on the internet when you are beyond being drunk.
I did amaze myself by getting home on the bike, and not getting a bwi (biking while intoxicated). I won't say what I found in my bike basket this am, it's too weird!
Today, I am nursing a really bad hangover and keeping the headache at bay with massive amounts of motrin... We are having about 30 people for a BBQ later today. My sister in law and I had so much fun last night that she's bringing Bombay Sapphire Gin, and tonic. I told her I buy mine at Costco, but am worried that we'll drink the rest of the bottle... Man, I'm going to need to go on the wagon after this weekend! We're having fun though! Happy 4th to you all!
OMG - this is SERIOUSLY too much! When I heard that you were on a farm...I thought "ok, right" - probably a preppy farm where the cows are in clean little cubbies with bright white paint and shinny industrial piping. You know, the kind where you sit in a golf cart and sail by viewing the cows behind plexi! I mean afterall - Marcia with cows???
ReplyDeleteI have to say I'm proud of you girl! Looking so at home in front of Bessie and her sisters and on that tractor ready to merge onto the next freeway entrance! If only my grand daddy's chicken farm were still around - we could have our next retreat among the chicken's and cows! :-)
Val...you are too funny! This is definitely a blog of firsts...we really need to save this one for posterity!
Happy 4th my girls!
