Warming Up Joe

Dear Ones,
I brought Val's beet potatoes and the scarf to Gail & Joe's house this morning. Don't faint, but I actually did it before work! That's saying something, isn't it? I left the goodies on the front porch tickled to death that I got up early enough to do it. While patting myself on the back, I opened my purse back at the shop and discovered I hadn't put Joe's card with the scarf. Darn. I sent Gail an email explaining that it was knit with love by all of us. Shortly thereafter, sweet Joe called. He said he was overwhelmed by our thoughtfullness. It meant a great deal to him. Okay, I almost started crying ... why, I don't know. I was just so touched that he was so touched. You know how that goes. So Monday, when he starts the treatment, he will be comforted with softness, love, and warmth. Thank you all for working on it and for being the loving beings that you are.

  1. Ladies: I am so taken and appreciative of your wonderful gift to me. It is so warm, beautiful and personal! I know all of you worked on it and I treasure this wonder scarf. It will keep my skinny frame warm when I need it. I am overwhelmed at your thoughtfulness. Thank you so very, very much. Love, Joe

  3. OK, well I do have tears in my eyes. What a touching gift of love for my dear one. You guys are simply the best!

We had the biopsy today. Not fun. Had to go all the way to Poway. And I had to drive, couldn't exactly make the guy being poked and prodded with no good drugs do it. Geeze, I hate the 15 and Poway is at least as far as Fresno in my book. Why does everyone drive like they are trying to kill someone? I came home exhausted and had to take a nap.

The lawn is almost all gone and will get one more round of poison just to make sure it is good and dead.

  4. I am so glad to hear the scarf and food gifts were such a hit. I hope that beautiful scarf keeps Joe so warm he gets hot! I've been dreaming of that scarf ever since knitting on it. The yarn is so yummy and soft and cushie, I'm trying to figure what I can make for Greg with that yarn. I'm sure he'd like a sweater, and I could almost see knitting forever with that yummy yarn!

The beet potatoes were made with nice organic beets. I could eat those potatoes til the cows come home, I love them so much.

Hopefully the news of the biopsy will be what you want to hear. Kill off that grass with the poison and the cancer with radiation, and hopefully allwill be right with the world once again.

We are having great fun here in Virginia. We spent two days at Williamsburg, then Monticello today. It's lovely here, and I can see why people love Va. so much.

    See you soon, Val
